FNILHM, (florence ngala is losing her mind).

Yesterday, I went to Barnes and Noble as I often do, because I like reading things when people don’t make me (cough cough English class) and I’m usually down with the Teen Vogue and Seventeen, but once I started going to Barnes and Noble more often, I couldn’t keep waiting for the next Teen Vogue or Seventeen to come out, so I discovered other magazines like Nylon for example. NOTE: NYLON IS BASICALLY ONE OF THE THINGS I LIVE FOR NOW. I also discovered magazines that have pretty editorials that are from out of the country that are shipped to Barnes and Noble like MUSE and PURPLE magazines, yesterday since I’d b asically read everything that I wanted to in the fashion section, I went over to the music section, and I discovered TOKION magazine, which has music and fashion and these amazing photos and FMS, (Fashion, Music, Style). This is similar to Tokion but a little smaller and is more music related and WAX POETICS, to whom I give credit for taking my hip hop virginity, this magazine is just mostly about hip hop music. I sat in Barnes and Noble and read through the magazines and some of the stuff that was in them I thought was so interesting that I got out a pen and a napkin and started taking notes on some of the music that I wanted to listen to or rappers that I was gonna look up on Youtube or and some photographers that I wanted to look up. So then I left Barnes and Noble and had to go to Pathmark and while I was shopping with my mom and my siblings, I started to lose my mind a little because I had eaten about 100 jelly bellies that day, true story, those jelly beans are amazing. And I started spazzing out in the store and dancing to the 80s music that they were blasting while playing air guitar with a spaghetti sauce jar, by the time we left Pathmark and got home, since I was high off jelly beans I didn’t realize that I had LOST my napkin with all the wonderful notes I took, if you’re thinking “Florence it’s just a napkin” then you don’t know how it feels to work hard on something and lose it, and--- well you know what WHO ASKED YOU? CAUSE IT WASN’T JUST A NAPKIN, CAUSE I WROTE ON IT, TWO AND A HALF NAPKIN PAGES. And because I can’t STAY FOCUSED EVER, I LOST MY NAPKIN, the same way I lost my chance for going to lake placid because I lost my focus and didn’t want to learn geometry so now I’m in SUMMER SCHOOL, the same way I lose my money shopping because I don’t know how to save and invest in my fucking future, the same way I lose Metrocards because I don’t realize how important they are as the portal between home and school, between life and knowledge and I can’t just I – I can’t just do anything right and I can’t focus and it’s just, it’s just a problem. What a coincidence that I’m listening to Made You Look by Nas, have a listen… “they shooting, oh I made you look you a slave to a page in my rhyme book” well, to be quite honest, if someone was shooting, I probably would look instead of focusing on running and then I would be killed, and you know what would happen?... I’ll tell you, I’d LOSE my fucking life.

Peace, love and focus. Your fave bamf flo, whose blog keeps her sane.

get whack

alrightyy so i mentioned this in a post a while ago, that i have these little brain blasts or like mini epiphanies that come to me in chunks of five, and i'm gonna talk about one of them, okay so. the other day i was watching juno, again, and as i was watching i kinda thought about how juno macguff had this really care free personality where she didn't seem to really give two shits and a fuck about what people said and she was just a really chill person. good taste in music, pretty normal life, besides the fact that she got pregnant at 16, and i kinda thought about how i wish i was more like her, not the whole getting pregnant thing but everything else. i feel like i spazz out about everything and talk too much, and sometimes i unknowingly glare at people on the subway which usually doesn't end very well, but if i was more like juno (once again minus the whole pregnant thing), i'd be a lot more conserved and centered. my problem however is that i am easily distracted, let's save that for another post. but like i started thinking about how people try to be something that they're not. for example, when everyone tried to be a hipster because it was cool to shop at urban outfitters and wear vintage clothing, and shop at thrift stores, and listen to indie music, and chill in soho, and dance like a spazz and other things that i don't want to mention in this post. i went through this phase where i wanted to be a hipster, before i wanted to be juno macguff, and i thought it was cool, but then it wasn't cool once everyone wanted to do it because everyone wanted to be a hipster, and that makes you a wipster, and i say that because 50 cent told me that fake gangsters are called wangsters, so fake hipsters are obviously called wipsters. ANYWAY, i started thinking about how trends work and how things get popular, and they get whack because they are common and become boring. and then i made this thing called a collage, out of four black and white pictures of me and then i made one for my sister, and then dani, and then conasia and then people started asking for them, cause they thought they were cool, not saying that they weren't, and they wanted to be "squared", because it was cool and then it got whack to me, so i stopped making them even though other people have asked me for one. and the whole point of this shpeelamabob is to bitch about the concept of how when everyone likes one thing, it ends up being overrated, or getting whack because everyone's doing the same thing. so people should just be their own motherfucking selves.
the end.
(sorry if you're offended by this because you do some of the things i called whack, remember that it's just MY opinion, if you don't like it get the fuck off MY blog. :D)

i'm on the pursuit of collages. btw.

i think that collages are good for the soul, like candy. but they're good for the soul in different ways and i guess i could explain why, but let's save that for another time. SO the definition of collage is a work of formal art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole... at least according to wikipedia.com... THE MOST RELIABLE SOURCE IN THE WORLD. (jk.) On a serious note, collages are so amazing, you can take all of the things you like and put them all together to make yourself happy. it's interesting the way that we're all kind of in a pursuit of happiness, we all want to just live life doing things that we like to do and being HAPPY PEOPLE. so the point of this paragraph is that people make collages to make themselves happy.

LOOK AT THIS SICKNASTY COLLAGE.

alright so this is basically a bunch of my favorite things including artwork, celebrities, and one of my best friends (ohh heyy there conasia). this is my pursuit of happiness basically, this is my assemblage of different forms that create a new whole.
i've been working on it since hmmm i dunno early this year and now it's pretty.......... WAIT, YOU DON'T THINK IT'S PRETTY???.... ohh my bad i thought that's what you said.

OTHER COLLAGE, this masterpiece is how my wall looks but NOT the most updated version cause i stopped by H&M this weekend, and i brought their summer 2010 magazine home with me because the girl on the cover was pretty.... (there are lots of pretty things in this blog aren't there?) For the past couple of months, i've been stocking up on magazines like Teen Vogue, F.A.D., H&M Magazine and random models in like newspapers and stuff, then i'd (not so) precisely cut out the models and strategically place the models next to each other but in a random order because random is the best way to do things. and then this thing came out... there are also clever phrases on the wall which you can't really see like "fashion fuel", "the unreported party" (whaddup blog name), "trendometer" and clever things like thattt. and omg it's super duper pretty like whoa.
collage rhymes with college.
SOOO WITH THIS WHOLE IDEA OF COLLAGES ... WANNA TALK ABOUT ANOTHER ONE... OKAY LET'S GO.

DANIQUE MCGOWAN, who also has pretty pictures, has a blog called "C'est La Vie" where she puts up shmexy pics of other people that she doesn't know because they're cool. if you look down there you'll see random people, and that's a cool snapshot of her blog. this is basically a bunch of the pictures put together that create a whole picture... hmm kind of like A COLLAGE?!?!?

well besides the fact that i fucking love danique, i think her blog is pretty but she changed it a little but i'm gonna force her to change it back so that it can be as pretty and magical as it was before. BY THE WAY THIS IS HER BLOG URLizzer http://punchdrunklove1.tumblr.com/

the moral of this post is... PEOPLE ARE IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_snoM4VkWAw) so they take all their FAVORITE THINGS... PUT THEM TOGETHER, AND MAKE COLLAGES. see how it all tied together like an essay with a thesis statement, too bad i can't do that in history papers.

SO I GUESS YOU'RE GONNA GO DO SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT NOW, THANKS FOR WASTING TIME WITH ME :D

lookbooks and alexachungs.

okay, so i think it's about time to blogg again mainly because PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY READING THIS CRAP NOW. but it's the GOOD KIND of CRAP not the bad kind. sooo i think i'll talk about my current obssessions ...... readysetgo.

i really really really like alexa chung like it's ACTUALLY a problem. these are the foolish reasons why, actually they're not that foolish.

1. SHE HAS A BRITISH ACCENT.
2. SHE HAS SWAGGER.
3. I LIKE HER FACE because it's fun to look at.
--------------------------------->
i know u enjoyed it.
4. SHE IS SO CAYUTE!
i think she had a show on MTV idk if it airs anymore butttttt i didn't watch it sooooo it probably wasn't that good. (jk)

ON TO THE NEXT ONE...

Other thing that i've been obsessed with for a while is lookbook.nu it's basically random losers from all over the world who are obssessed with fashion and decide to take awkwardly cute pictures of themselves. So you can get like hypes and stuff if people like your outfits and if you have a lot of hypes then you're a lucky bitch. So i feel like now would be an approppiate time to show you some even though you already looked at the picture, like, i know you did. So maybe i should not introduce the picture or explain it because maybe you don't care, which is the reason why you decided to look at the picture before reading this extensive growing and unnecessary description, don't you love this, how I'm not explaining the picture and talking to you even though i have know idea that your reading this, I'm probably watching squirrels right now. kay i'm done being weird.

SOOOOOO................
THIS IS ZAINA G., she's from Georgia but is NIGERIAN. as
am i. and CAMEROONIAN TOO. anyways zaina is super cool

cuz she can name almost all the people in my collage that's on facebook and  we have minor arguments about whether paris or new york is prettier. but she's actually SO fucking PRETTY. and we're also like kinda pen pals although she hasn't approved to this and i've never met her before like in real life and the point of this banter is showing you the coolness of lookbook now let's look at a boyyy.

oh so this is thanja and he's just a super cool kid because he likes to get mad at me for asking him if he's hot, but he does it to everyone anywayyyss this another picture on lookbook (that needs more hypes, if you're like WTF IS A HYPE? then maybe you don't have good READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS because i did refer to it earlier in this blog thing that i'm doing, so. i like this picture because if you stand five-seven feet away from it, it kind of looks like its his whole body, at least to me it does... and he looks so cute in the top picture like a squirrel!!! but i'm pretty shurr u get the point now about how people who use lookbook have to have decent faces and pretty wardrobes.

like ZAINA AND THANJA. btw, if u liked her face then maybe you'll like zaina's blog which is http://thepickleismyoyster.tumblr.com/  and i thanja doesn't have one but he's a kick ass photographer so become a fan of his photography on facebook or click this link... http://www.flickr.com/photos/jayjaygbay
so if you had the patience to read this whole thing, well then
good for you but uhm i'm pretty sure i'm done here soooo until the next time that i get bored enough to blog i think i'm gonna start work now because i should've an hour ago.

DON'T BE A WHORE, USE POLYVORE.

i realize that there's a problem when what you think is cool, is the same thing that everyone else is doing, for this reason it is totally necessary for people who enjoy playing dress-up for the world, to put their own twists and tweaks on outfits to prevent aforementioned repetitiveness where everyone is dressed the same. i believe in my style, and my wardrobe, and my clothing, but sometimes when i feel like i am lacking some creativity or need to have one of those brain blasts like jimmy neutron (which come to me in chunks of five), i find it useful to go to websites such as POLYVORE.COM... now comes the part where i talk about it.

POLYVORE.... okay this website is basically playing dress up but with a ginormous, gigantic, super duper big wardrobe.... you can search random items and put them all together in an outfit.... for example
in this outfit
---------------->
i own nothing not the gold watch, or the black
studded bracelets, or gold chains... NOT EVEN
THE DOC MARTENS. which makes me sad, but is okay, because making this outfit kinda inspires me and makes me think about things i have in my closet that i can still make
outfits out of although not as good.... and it gives me the opportunity to EXPOSE my fashion taste to other polyvore users... people can view your set, comment on it etc.... and u can see how many people have looked at your set and everything.
soo that was the first example. have another :D

soo this one is another outfit, my first ACSHULY. and i made it when me and one of my bffls were gonna go SHOPPING. but we didn't. ANYWHO, i have everything in this outfit except for the pink bow, kid cudi, and mr. williams (who i want very much), so i wasn't sure what i wanted to wear on this day so i went on to polyvore and started thinking about things in my wardrobe, i typed in normal phrases like "black leggings", "blue button- down", "white keds", etc. and sever
al results came up there not EXACTLY the items in my wardrobe but they look the same so i could see the way the outfit would look BEFORE ACTUALLY wearing it. Isn't That Awesome?!?!?!? (that's a rhetorical question)... so these are two outfits.... and now that
you've learned about polyvore. GO USE IT.

Soho and Swag Scales.

2day. me and my friend conasia decided that we were going to soho, fosho, we believe that soho is the epicenter of inspiration for the art of "artsy picture taking". dont agree? to bad no one asked you anyway.
but like true life. soho is so chill and we enjoy taking pictures on the cameras that aren't ours that we're borrowing from Ms. Johnson, technically without permission (oops?)
but we are pretty bad a** so that's just the way we roll, like hannah montana and the jobros.

so besides this whole chill-in-soho-fosho-take-arts-pics-you-know (CISFTAPYK)
idea. i made up this thing called a SWAGG SCALE which goes from 1 to 13. For example, this guy
has got some swag. he's just chillin in the park, reading a book.
cute beanie, hot sunglasses. a vest and he's just doing his own thangggg. (haha, i like how i said that, and i know you did too cuz ur smiling now). ANYWAYS. HE GETS A 13. and look at his facial expression!

However, this guy over here, well we've got a problem.
1. he's trying way to
o hard
5. his sweatshirt and his pants are the same color,
like common that's just ugly.
-4. his pants aren't skinny jeans, or baggy they
look like knockoff bell bottoms (i'm going in).
3,000. the guy in the back should be in the front.
and did i mention he's trying too hard??

yeah, so he gets a bitter 4. sorry clifford
(that was a joke, cuz he's red, like clifford the big red dog.)

SO btw i didn't get these pictures from some random people's facebooks, i'm friends with a group called Swagger on Facebook and these two kids submitted their pics because they thought they had swagger.

so until whenever i get bored enough to blog again.
peace out. YOUR FAVORITE BAMF FLO.-----(right hizzur)----->

SECOND MAGAZINE
teen vogue.
IT'S GREAT, just great it's like a mini vogue but kinda not as high fashion/ super duper expensive and i'm pretty sure that everyone knows about this magaziiineee. but i just feel like i should talk about my own opinion of it even though noone cares. SO WHAT I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT TV (hahah, tv is fun to watch) are the PHOTO SHOOTS, they have the greatest colors and clothing and models and LOOK OVER HERE---->

they also do that thing where they have like freeee giveaways every month and like the shopping spree stuff. i need grammar lessons. but i think you get the point. here's another picture and it's slightly cooler than the first one...

Jan 27, 2010

current addictions.

hello guys. third post. ohh yesh.

ANYWAY I'M GONNA TALK ABOUT MY CURRENT ADDICTIONS.... NOW SO i kinda love photography took it in school no big deal and i really like photoediting. i'm starting my own clothing line kinda thing with a friend where i screen print tshirts and it's super duper cool but i've been recently thinking about modeling and like editorial pictures which are the really fashon ones and i also like the ones that are kinda boho-ish and really chill .... like the natural ones where people are lauging or even when the model is just like awkwardly standing ....

chanel iman.

alrighty then lets get right to it. chanel iman is a gorgeous beast whose such a pretty model and she's part KOREAN and AFRICAN-AMERICAN. we like those! so i've kinda loved her since i saw her on the cover of teen vogue with another great model named jourdan dunn. anyways chanel is 18 and w/ a name like that she was probably born to be a model but SHE'S SUPER DUPER TALENTED and pretty!!! so check her out!

XOFLO
