The Adonis Bosso Story

so I'm not really into celebrities... or like a huge fan of anyone or anything, but idk Adonis Bosso has been my current obsession for like the past month now. A couple days ago my skating program had our annual fundraiser at Lasker Rink in Harlem. Minutes before we get ready to go on and perform I see this guy who (at the moment) I thought was Adonis Bosso. I was like OIWHORPWJPAIBFOW and lowkey lost it... turns out it was the cousin of one of my guy friends -____- but anyway I tweeted Adonis and he responded and I sort of fainted out of my chair. Wanna look at pictures of him? Yes? Okkk

he's from Ivory Coast (a country in West Africa) but he lives in Montreal and he started modeling when he was 17, he's like 21 or 22 now andddd i just think his face is so adorable. also his cheekbones are unreal, but he probably only likes cute model girls, but a girl can dream....

KESH

isn't that cool? sorry if it's distracting. anyway, you know how on facebook there are those people that you don't know, but have mutual friends with... so you occasionally facebook stalk them because they're cool or something? that's like what KESH and I's friendship (or lack there of) is like. but it's kinda weird that i follow her on almost every social network, probably borderline stalkerish but whatever. Kesh is pretty cool, she DJs, was once a back up dancer for M.I.A (one of her close friends) and in addition to that... she models, designs and is an artist. On top of all that she's undoubtedly the queen of self portraiture, i mean honestly. i've always worried that the whole concept of self portrait photography may come off as conceited or narcissistic even, but she makes it look so easy and her photos are so much more than just pictures of her in and of themselves. Kesh really takes shit to the next level with her edits, what's cool is that a lot of her art is basically manipulated photographs, but she's so good at the model/photographer/artist thing that it makes for good art... and even better selfies. check out some of her work here http://www.keshcontinues.com/

"TEENAGE WASTELAND: JAPANESE YOUTH IN REVOLT, 1964"

a selection of images I pulled from a body of work on the LIFE magazine website, the images were shot by Michael Rougier in 1964 whose assignment was "documenting one Japanese generation's age of revolt", these are perfect (view all 30 images here).

zora sicher

so there aren't many photographers my age that i really fuck with. i usually just observe techniques and good photographs by older or more established photographers. but when i do discover someone whose work i really like it's great cause i just scroll through their shit for a while and can get super inspired by the stuff i see. that said, zora sicher is sort of like a merge between the two. her sense of depth of field and the way she can convey the youth/emotion of her subjects (usually her friends) in photographs is really unique. i've been fucking with her work since i started following her on tumblr like last year... http://zorasicher.tumblr.com/

Random: Colorblock Backpacks

you can tell a lot about a person from the bag they wear. i always thought that contrary to that popular saying... it's the bag that makes the man, not the clothes. think about how often you're actually walking behind someone during your life, on the street, in hallways, in a line. people's backs are always to you, and your back is always to someone else, that's why it's very important that you sport the right gear. but seriously back packs are really important, you wear different pairs of shoes, and pants and jackets, but a bag lasts so much more longer and you utilize it so much more. so when the time comes for picking out a new one don't just settle for something simple. c'mon it's 2013. that said, my random appreciation post of some cool color block backpacks.
